Standing in your Light (Official Lyric Video) Booch Band Feat. Leroy Bocchieri of Day One
The Official Lyric Video to "Standing in Your Light"
Hopeful ode to a future of optimistic and luminated sentiment. Breezy and celebratory guitar flourishes sway with a lush vocal background that reminds us of the ethereal and spirited renewal from light. Jayhawks and other Midwestern heartland artists' vibes shine throughout. The Leroy's featured soulful guitar solo floats at first then builds to a Todd Rundgren-like uplifting jam. Leroy Bocchieri a.k.a Booch brings in John Richardson on Drums (Small Squares, Shoes, BadFinger, Gin Blossoms, Eddie Money), and Kevin Gastonguay on Keyboards.

Official Lyric Music Video for Booch Band's a.k.a. Leroy Bocchieri''s "Standing in Your Light" release.
Born to a Successful Grocer/Accordion Player (also named Roy) and housewife mother, Roy Jr received a Sears Silvertone guitar which he played through a Magnatone Custom 280 amp starting at age 8. He hated the Magnatone (at the time) and traded up to a Gibson Les Paul Artisan through a Marshall half stack by 13. School band taught him drums and percussion in addition to his guitar and accordion experience.
Playing in endless cover bands through school for weddings, parties, dances etc his first release came after he met Jeff Murphy of Shoes fame and was invited to record at their legendary Short Order Recorder Studio in Zion Illinois. The ensuing efforts resulted in his first single, “Shadow of a Doubt” b/w “Ain’t Nothin” on a 12” vinyl single on his vanity label Broken Records Ltd. A deal in Europe followed on Germany’s Specter Records with the single, Holdja Closa" from his first full album titled “Electric” and subsequent video garnered heavy exposure on MTV Europe and radio internationally.
Two more albums followed with a new band he called Day One; “Hallowed Ground” and “Figurehead”.
By this time Leroy was pulling double duty as a father of 4 and also formulating Big Dog Music Design to propagate his music to TV, Film, Commercials, and any sync-able media possible. Music Composer credits included: Hallmark Channels’ “Sunday Dinner”, “Good Night America”, Indie Slasher Film “Hunting Humans” and numerous ads and corporate branding pieces.
A Christmas Single, “Santa Stole My Baby” was released in 1991 on Black Vinyl Records’ Original Christmas Pop Compilation including songs by Material Issue, Don Dixon, Matthew Sweet, The Spongetones, and Kelly Ryan. Very positive press was accumulated and the fun pop ditty still garners heavy rotation worldwide, appears on Karaoke collections, and has been covered by a number of bands.
Fast forward 1000s of syncs and Leroy/Big Dog were contributing to anything from the Turin Olympics on CBS, McDonalds, Allstate, A&E shows, and Duck Dynasty.
Including his own projects, as a side man Leroy also played with Shoes on various live tours as well as bass on 1998’s “Isolation Party” by Tommy Keene.
After forming Booch Band, Leroy released two singles; “Underneath” and “Close on You” produced by John Richardson(Gin Blossoms, Shoes, Tommy Keene, Soul Asylum, Bad Finger, Eddie Money ) at his studio, DrumFarm, in Menominee Wi. Leroy is joined by John on drums and Kevin Gastuguay on keyboards. Jeff Murphy of Shoes adds backing vocals and electric guitar on “Underneath”.
A lighter spirited instrumental piece called “Holy Pow” will appear on Jerry Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” on Netflix premiering July 17.
In addition, the latest Booch Band single “Standing in your Light” offers exposure and advocacy for phone addiction awareness with its’ debut on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music etc on aug 12, 2019.
An original song penned for an upcoming animated re-telling of the original Pinocchio story(circa 1800’s / Sans Jiminy Cricket) will be released in December 2020. The song is called “Heart is Always Home".
So, The music keeps flowing and the songs continue to take on meaning while syncing with the visual for a bright future for Leroy Bocchieri. (he still has the Magnatone 280 and records often with it!)
